In sum, we are a church family that embraces the current, renewing work of the Holy Spirit while also holding to the ancient practices of historic Christianity. We aim to practice worship that engages both intellect and emotion, thinking that the head and heart are to be assimilated and not separated.
Overarching Value:
We Are a Community in Unity
We are a church that seeks to “make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.” (Ephesians 4.3) We recognize that there are many things in church life that can divide people, but we also recognize that through our cooperation with the Holy Spirit, we can help make a community that reflects God’s love for all people. This is not just for our sake, though, but for the sake of those outside the church. As we mature in this oneness, we give the world evidence of God’s love for them. (John 17.23)
Five core values:
1. We Raise to Release
We develop people, not programs. We pour into the lives of others to help empower them to serve their family, church, and community.
2. We Expect the Unexpected
We embrace the miraculous gifts of the Spirit, while also seeking to learn how to live in the tension and mystery that comes along with it.
3. We Go Back to Go Forward
We seek deep transformation through the spiritual formation. This includes ancient and contemplative Christian practices such as prayer, sabbath-keeping, silence, worship,  service and regular observance of the Lord’s Supper.
4. We Gather to Scatter
We recognize the importance of bearing witness to Christ in our city by embracing a mission-focused mindset.
5. We Contribute Not Consume
We actively look for ways to serve the needs in our church and community. Our first concern is to find a way to contribute, not find out what’s in it for us.

The people who make up FWC come from various church and theological backgrounds. We do not exclude anyone because of any matter of honest theological difference among believers in the Church. As Aimee Semple McPherson said, “In essentials-unity; in non-essentials-liberty; and in all things-charity”.

As a whole, though, our church is rooted within historic Christian orthodoxy, and affirms The Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds.

The Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, died, and buried; He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in The Holy Spirit; The holy catholic* Church; The communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting. Amen.

We are a church family that believes  children are important! We provide a safe and loving environment where kids can learn and experience Christ. We strive to find a balance between providing specialized, age-appropriate environments for children, while also having them involved in the greater life and worship of the church.
FWC Students (EDGE) 6th-12th
We believe ministry to students in middle and high school is crucial. That is why FWC Student Ministry (EDGE) meets twice a month on Tuesday nights for times of games, connection with other students, worship, and encouragement through biblical teaching.
EHS Course
We believe connection with other believers outside our Sunday morning service is important. This is why we are going through an 8 Week Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course. The course begins January 31, 2018.
Prayer Team
We hold the convictions that prayer works. A group of intercessors meet every Tuesday at 9:30 am to pray for our church and community. All are welcome to join.
These are just a sampling of our ministry offerings. For a full list, please come to one of our Sunday morning gatherings!
